This policy explains how Read-OK (Japanese name: ヨミオケ; the "app") handles information.
The app does not collect or store personally identifiable information. No account is required, and it contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The only things that leave your device are the anonymous usage statistics in Section 2 and, if you are signed into Game Center, score submissions (Section 6).
The following data is stored only on your device:
To make the app better, it sends anonymous usage counts to a server operated by the developer (collect.appline.app, on Cloudflare). The following are counted, all as totals (aggregates) only:
What is sent (only this): a fixed, predefined event or challenge ID plus the app version number. Nothing else.
What is never sent: no name, email, device identifier (IDFA / IDFV), advertising ID, location, reading audio, custom-passage text, or any other information that could identify a person.
No individual can be identified or tracked: the app assigns no persistent identifier to a device or user. All that is stored is "how many times, in total, an action happened" — which makes it structurally impossible to identify a specific person, follow the same person over time, or build a profile.
Where it goes: only to the developer's own server. It is never shared with third parties such as Google, Firebase, or Meta. Your IP address is not logged, stored, or used, and is never associated with the anonymous counts above.
The home screen's "Recently popular" list loads a public aggregate of those challenge-measurement totals (challenge ID counts only) from the same server.
Analysis of microphone audio (presence, melody, pacing, dynamics, finish, and related signals) runs entirely on your device. Recording data is deleted from temporary storage after analysis and is never sent to the developer's servers.
Besides the anonymous counts and popular aggregates in Section 2, the app may communicate with Apple services for Game Center (Section 6) and in-app purchases (Section 7). Reading audio and custom-passage text are never sent to the developer's servers.
If you are signed into Game Center, scores from curated literature measurements (numbers only — never audio) may be submitted to Apple Game Center leaderboards. Custom-passage (Pro) scores never enter leaderboards. Game Center is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
The app offers Read-OK Pro, a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks measuring your own pasted text. Curated literature remains free to measure. All purchase processing is handled by Apple StoreKit and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer never receives payment details such as credit card numbers, and only learns from the App Store whether the purchase has been made.
The app does not include third-party analytics or tracking SDKs and shows no ads. The anonymous counts in Section 2 go only to the developer's server, are not linked to individuals, and are not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. They are not App Tracking Transparency (ATT) tracking, and the app does not request ATT permission.
The app is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The anonymous usage statistics in Section 2 are identifier-free totals that cannot identify any person, including children.
