Peakline — Privacy Policy

Peakline does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Changed in v1.0.1: To improve the app, we added anonymous action counts (see "Anonymous usage statistics" below). We count how many times the app was opened and how many times features like saving, sharing, and comparing artworks were used — always as anonymous totals. The app holds no identifier of any kind, so it is impossible to identify a specific person, follow anyone over time, or build a profile. We note this change here rather than hide it.

Not collected: No location, camera, photos, contacts, name, email, or device identifiers — none of it.
Your content: The places, notes, and visit dates you record are stored only on your device and are never sent to any server.
Network: The app connects only to fetch elevation tiles (GSI Japan / Mapzen Terrain Tiles) for drawing terrain, place search (Apple MapKit), and to send the anonymous usage statistics described below. These requests contain no personally identifying information.
Sharing: Sharing happens only when you explicitly choose to, through the standard system share sheet.
Ads & tracking: There are no ads and no tracking.

Anonymous usage statistics

To improve the app, Peakline sends anonymous action counts to a server operated by the developer (collect.appline.app). What is counted is a fixed set of actions — "the app was opened", "an artwork was saved", "a poster was exported", "the compare viewer was opened" — always as aggregate totals only.

What is sent (this is everything): a fixed event name plus the app version (e.g. 1.0.1).

What is never sent: name, email, device identifiers (IDFA / IDFV), advertising IDs, location, the content of your artworks (place names, coordinates, notes), or anything else that could identify you.

No one can be identified or followed: the app assigns no persistent identifier to your device (no device ID, no session ID). Only "how many times an action happened in total" is recorded; there is no key to join events on, so identifying a specific user, following the same person over time, or building a profile is structurally impossible.

Where it goes: only to the developer's own server (on Cloudflare). Nothing is shared with third parties such as Google, Firebase, or Meta. Your IP address is never recorded, stored, or used, and is never linked to the counts above. This does not constitute tracking under App Tracking Transparency (ATT).
